Idea 213: Festive Christmas Robins

This is a festive take on a previous idea, idea 142 (symmetry birds). What I particularly like about this task is that there is enough of a scaffold at each step of the proceedings that most children should be able to complete this independently.

Each child needs half of an outline drawn on a piece of paper (this takes about two minutes to draw).

  1. They fold their paper down the middle and cut out the outline of the bird.
  2. They unfold their paper and make a symmetrical copy of the features of the bird (the wings and eyes and so on).
  3. They colour the bird in.
  4. Done!
