A lovely simple idea I’ve been using to review word types.
I introduced the class to nouns in a short grammar lesson, then to make sure we keep revisiting the term I asked the children to choose one noun to say when they answer the register. We do this every day, meaning the children are exposed to 30 nouns each time we do the register. No child feels worried as they are allowed to repeat a noun that has already been said if they like, but many children love to push themselves to choose a new noun to share with the class.
This activity takes almost no additional time and has really helped embed the terminology with the class. Next week, verbs!
